AR Eagles and Diamonds Earned in February

Congratulations to those students who earned their certificate for passing the AR Reading Challenge. This was a first-semester reading challenge to all students in 2nd-5th grades. They needed to earn 25 points for 2nd/3rd graders and 35 points for 4th/5th graders before winter break to qualify. These students will have grade-level group pictures in the yearbook!

Congratulations to Mr. Pinnock and Mr. Gauthia!

Mr. Pinnock was named Principal of the Year by the Northeast Learning Community. And Mr. Gauthia was namedĀ Professional of the Year.

Area Superintendent Cliff Jones was able to surprise Mr. Pinnock at a staff meeting after school where he thought only Mr. Gauthia would be celebrated. Thank you both for your dedication to our students, school, and RE community!

Cheerleading Tryouts will be at Centennial High School April 19-21 from 5:30-7pm.

Visit the Parent Resource Center!

All parents and guardians are invited to come visit the River Eves Title I Parent Resource Center to learn about all the educational materials that are free and available for check-out to all River Eves families!

Resources include math, reading, and language arts resources, parenting books, games, and even a computer available for parent use!

Regular Parent Resource Center hours are:

M: 10:45 AM -2:00 PM

T,F: 8:10 AM -2:00 PM

W,TH: 8:10 AM -9:30 AM & 10:45 AM-2:00 PM.

Beautification Projects At River Eves!

Due to the generosity of our parents for our Eagle Fund and our extremely successful Fun Run, the PTA will be working on a few beautification projects for the school. The PTA Board asked staff for suggestions and here are the projects: 
Eagle mural in the gym – Frank & Jennifer Simotics are in the process of painting the eagle. It looks FANTASTIC! 
Eagles acronym (see winning acronym above) – Frank & Jennifer Simotics and Ashley Cordes have finished the acronym.
Student art work in the halls – art work is now on display in the hallways (thank you, Jane Reid)
Additional Keurig brewer and microwave for the staff – purchased
 Mural in the cafeteria – we have commissioned 6 images and the plan is to have them installed by mid-May (The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Green Eggs & Ham, Strega Nona, If You Give a Moose a Muffin, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Stepping stones near modulars – Thanks to Tom Schulz for installing over holiday break
Refurbishing &/or purchasing new picnic tables around campus – One new picnic table purchased for the outdoors. Thank you to Brian McGill and Bill Kostas for assembling it.
New picnic table in the reading garden – A huge THANK YOU to Brian McGill and Bill Kostas for assembling this circular picnic table  
Clean up &/or remodel the outdoor classroom
Assistance with rewards for PBIS school program – new
Paint conference room and decorate with student artwork – Thank you to Melissa Crean for painting the wall and hanging the art work. Also thanks to Jane Reid (Square 1 Art) for donating the art and frames (again)!
